Summer Breeze by davidrichterphoto Summer Breeze by davidrichterphoto
After a cruel 3,800 ft. elevation gain over 9.6 miles, I was treated to a pretty nice sunset over the iconic twin peaks of Els Encantats and Subenoix (in the distance) in the Spanish part of the Pyrenees and I enjoyed every minute of it. The gentle breeze coming off the nearby ridge was a nice change from the sweltering heat of the day, as I sat above this little pond, taking in the view down the deep carved valley towards Espot, where I started my day.

No, not that I know of. Richter is a fairly common surname over here. It's not a Smith or Johnson, but maybe as common as Carter or Walker.

This image was taken at sunset. Whereas, the next morning, I stumbled across those scenes: -1- and -2- .

Ok just wondering, but the two scenes are gorgeous, the lone pine photo is remarkable, if you know a verse of the bible or if you write you should pair the scene "1" with it

Lovely. I'd have said the Sierra Nevadas in California, if you hadn't told us--it's a dead ringer.

Yeah, isn't it weird how much they resemble each other... I like to think of the Pyrenees as my Sierra, 4 hours by plane and bus away. lol

Astonishingly beautiful scenery and fantastically captured. Must have been so rewarding to get this view after the climb. Great shot.

PS. What exactly did you edit in photoshop?

Thank you, John. It has been a process over some time as I found myself coming back to the shot after not being completely satisfied with my first attempt at processing this rather complex scene. I applied some local contrast adjustments, texture and color adjustments through a diversity of luminosity and painted vibrance masks, TK's Smart Glow, a few dodge and burn layers to even out the exposure and a modified Orton effect.
